Revel in the beauty and breathe in the fresh, alpine air. Lake Tahoe hiking trails are certainly among the most beautiful in the world, with the Sierra Nevada’s offering a variety of terrain and trails fit for mountain biking or road cycling. And when you stay at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe, they’re right outside your door. Unplug, unwind and explore a few of our favorite trails:
The Flume Trail
Views of Lake Tahoe from the Flume Trail are some of the most spectacular you’ll find. The 14-mile, one-way mountain bike ride spans from Spooner Lake to Incline Village with bike rentals and shuttle services available. Those afraid of height be forewarned, this moderately difficult ride features 1000′ feet of climbing in the first four miles, steep cliffs and 4.5 miles of single track.
Tahoe Rim Trail
The 165-mile long Tahoe Rim Trail forms a loop around Lake Tahoe. Multiple trail heads located all around the lake provide access to the single track trail that is open to hiking, biking and equestrians. The Tahoe Rim Trail crosses two states and six counties and offers incredible views of Lake Tahoe. Visit TahoeRimTrail.org for more information.
Hike Mount Tallac
This difficult 9.5 mile hike climbs 3,500ft in elevation to the peak of Mount Tallac (9,735′ above sea level) and features amazing views of Lake Tahoe. The trailhead is located between Emerald Bay and Camp Richardson, a short 30-minute drive from Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe.
Fallen Leaf Lake to Angora Lake
The short 3.6 mile round trip hike features two beautiful alpine lakes and views of Lake Tahoe. Best be described as a series of switchbacks with views of Fallen Leaf Lake and Lake Tahoe in the distance, the trailhead is 30 minutes from Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe.
